New Radio @ SE0X: A Classic FT-1000
A classic Yaesu FT-1000 transceiver has been added to the SE0X line of equipment.
While the SE0X contest station is undergoing modernisation with new SDR transceivers waiting to be installed, we though it would be a nice touch to add a classic but high performing “boat anchor” for casual operations from the station. This FT-1000 is loaded with all the filters of the “D” model and the BPF-1 RX antenna band pass filter unit.
A few modifications where performed before the radio was put in service. One mod changed the RX antenna switching to allow for Diversity between the RX antenna and the RX2 antenna, another to was to upgrade of the firmware to the latest 6.0 version.
With the addition of this transceiver SE0X operators now have access to the following transceivers;
